When we started imagining Alquie, we did it from the classroom. Not from a boardroom, not from a PowerPoint full of metrics — from a room packed with teenagers who didn't want to read, teachers staying late to grade, and the uncomfortable feeling that educational technology wasn't helping as much as it promised.
The problem that kept us up at night
The edtech world is full of tools. There are quizzes, videos, assignment platforms, tracking dashboards. And yet, walk into any classroom and you'll see half the students disconnected, another quarter answering "just to be done with it," and a small group participating because they always do.
Can technology change that? If technology is "one more task on a screen," no. If technology gets the student to want to be there — to participate, to come back tomorrow — then yes. That was our hypothesis.

Built from the classroom, for the classroom
Alquie is built by teachers who have spent years understanding what motivates students and what shuts them down. It's not a gamified app because "points are trendy" — it's a pedagogical system that uses adventure mechanics to solve real classroom problems: passive participation, feedback that arrives too late, rewards that fade.
We built characters students want to collect. Coins earned through effort and spent meaningfully. Cooperative minigames where the whole class fights a boss and wins together or loses together. Quizzes that stop being quizzes and become exploration.
And, above all, a platform where the teacher remains the center — because no gamification replaces the educator who knows their students.
The alpha phase starts today
Starting today, a selected group of teachers begins using Alquie in their real classrooms. Different rooms, different countries, different ages. Their work will give us something no internal test can: reality.
Every bug they report, every suggestion they make, every "I love this" or "this doesn't work" will shape the version we open to the public.
